KTEMB Visits Chamber of Mechanical Engineers: Battery Storage Solar Systems on the Agenda

Kıbrıs Türk Elektrik Müteahhitleri Birliği (KTEMB) President Türkay Uzun Sılalı and his delegation visited the Makina Mühendisleri Odası (Chamber of Mechanical Engineers) to exchange views on current issues concerning the electrical sector.

The visit was held as part of KTEMB’s ongoing initiative regarding uncontrolled and illegal installations of battery-supported solar energy systems. Discussions focused on planned regulatory and bylaw amendments related to these systems.

The KTEMB delegation included Vice President Celal Hasan Cin, Board Members Barım Erdoğan and Özden Gençalp, as well as Administrative Director Osman Asilzade. The delegation met with Chamber President Ayer Yarkıner at the MMO meeting hall.

During the meeting, the parties extensively discussed the technical infrastructure, safety standards, and current legislation concerning battery storage solar energy systems. Possible areas of technical cooperation and joint initiatives between KTEMB and the Chamber of Mechanical Engineers were also evaluated.

KTEMB officials emphasized the importance of strengthening technical standards and inspection mechanisms to ensure the healthy and safe development of renewable energy investments.
