KTEMB Holds KNX and Building Automation Seminar at LAU

In cooperation with the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the European University of Lefke (LAU), the Cyprus Turkish Electrical Contractors Association (KTEMB) organized a training seminar titled “Introduction to Building Automation and KNX Systems.” The seminar, held at the university’s Rauf Raif Denktaş Conference Hall, attracted significant interest from students and academics.

During the seminar, participants were introduced to the KNX protocol and building automation systems, which are widely used worldwide in smart building technologies. The presentations were delivered by Electrical and Electronics Engineers Ahmet Dağbaşı and Şevki Kandulu, experts from the KTEMB KNX Training Unit established within the scope of the EU-funded Electrical Field Project carried out between 2018 and 2022.

KTEMB President Türkay Uzun Sılalı stated that the main objective of the seminar was to promote and expand awareness of the KNX protocol — regarded as the common language of increasingly widespread smart building systems in the country — and to inform students about the importance of specialization in this field.

At the end of the event, Burçin Özmen, Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, presented certificates of appreciation to KTEMB President Türkay Uzun Sılalı and KTEMB officials in recognition of their contributions.
