KTEMB Completes Regional Occupational Health and Safety Trainings

KTEMB Completes Regional Occupational Health and Safety Trainings

Cyprus Turkish Electrical Contractors’ Association (KTEMB) has successfully completed its regional occupational health and safety trainings aimed at employer members. The sessions were held in Nicosia, Famagusta, Kyrenia, and Morphou.

The trainings covered the risks associated with electrical work, the necessary precautions to be taken, and legal obligations. The sessions were delivered by Kib-Tek occupational health and safety experts Gürel Çelebi and Ercan Köseoğlu.

Lack of Knowledge Leads to Accidents and Fatalities

In a statement, KTEMB emphasized that most accidents and fatalities caused by electricity occur as a result of interventions by unauthorized individuals who are not members of the association.

It was underlined that electrical work must be carried out by licensed professionals, and that everyone receiving services at home or in the workplace should be aware of their legal responsibilities regarding occupational health and safety.

Raising awareness on this issue can significantly reduce the risk of accidents and potential loss of life.

Sılalı: “Trainings Will Continue”

KTEMB President Türkay Uzun Sılalı stated that while the training for employers has been completed, the next step will focus on providing basic health and safety training to the technical staff employed by member companies.

He also announced plans for first aid training in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, as well as preparations for a 40-hour coordinator training program for employees of member firms.
