Electric Vehicle Charging Safety
- Since charging vehicles from household sockets will directly transmit any electrical fault that may occur in the network to the vehicle, for safety reasons, charge your vehicle in wall-mounted charging units.
- The cable used between the charger and the vehicle must not exceed 5 meters and the cable must be completely open during the charging process. Voltage drop may cause undesirable electrical malfunctions as heating and magnetic field may occur in the cable used when wrapped.
- It should not be forgotten that it is important to purchase wall-mounted charging stations from certified suppliers and have their installation done by authorized KTEMB members.
- Cables with the correct cross-section and suitable for the power of the charging station should be preferred, and the installation and charging unit should be protected by using the correct type of protective switchgear materials (MCB, RCBO, RCCB, etc.).
- Check your charging cable frequently for wear and tear and replace it if there are any signs of damage.
