KTEMB visited Minister of Labor and Social Security, Sadık Gardiyanoğlu!

Minister of Labor and Social Security, Sadık Gardiyanoğlu, received the delegation of the Cyprus Turkish Electrical Contractors Association, headed by Türkay Uzun Sılalı.

The meeting focused on the steps to be taken jointly in the field of occupational health and safety in the electrical sector, with the association presenting its proposals to Minister Gardiyanoğlu.

In his speech, Minister Sadık Gardiyanoğlu emphasized that they declared 2025 as the "year of labor" and noted that laws and regulations, which have not changed for 30 years and have lost their relevance, will be updated in a short period. He highlighted that their efforts are continuing at full speed.

Minister Gardiyanoğlu mentioned that inspections have been increased by 100% in the years 2023-2024 and that they are trying to provide inspection services across the entire island with 22 inspectors.

Gardiyanoğlu also stated that 12 new inspectors will start their duties, and said, "Our goal is zero fatal work accidents. Work accidents deeply sadden us. No employer wants to lose their employee. Every lost life leaves a grieving family behind. Every worker is valuable to us. If we work together, we can overcome many problems and quickly reach solutions."
